The River Rat Pack: Day Two
The River Rat Pack takes a group of talented, up and coming musicians on three barges to live, play live and collaborate for a week, while cruising from London to Oxford ~ Dropping anchor at venues along the way for old school, shambolic pub performances. We follow The River Rat Pack, a tour featuring Sound Of Rum, Joker And The Thief, Holy Vessels, Bastille, Dark Moon and festival favourite Beans on Toast as they set-sail on May 22nd in London, building up to an all day mini-festival on May 29th in Oxford.

Last night we moored outside a boozer in Sunbury for a night off. Personally I’d never heard of this town but we invited ourselves into the poker night to provide some musical entertainment. The locals were somewhat confused but also interested and entertained, so everybody’s a winner. After Sunday night’s show in London we were all looking for some good “argh” and “argh” yesterday, which we definitely found.
Friendship is captain of the barge and spirits are high; whilst we’re cooking up a pasta dinner, cleaning up last night’s mess (both physically and mentally), listening to a bit of ska and cruising down to Windsor for the next show. If you’re ever going to travel along Britain’s waterways, might I suggest doing it with a consortium of incredible musicians – the atmosphere on board is already humming, and we’ve still got a week of all this.

In other news, shipmate Ferry has found the secret key for the other world and shipmate Mavo has promised to wear a banana tracksuit for the entire tour. All fairly standard.
The River Rat Pack continues its route along The Thames, next stopping TONIGHT at The Firestation in Windsor
