Red Stripe Music Award 2010: Exeter

08 Feb 2010

Exeter has announced its 2010 bill for Red Stripe Music Awards, taking place at the Mama Stones on February 10th. Last year, Exeter electro band Drunk With Joy and indie rockers Letters To Leaders made it onto the shortlist for the final but just missed out on playing at the HMV Forum in London where Gomez headlined in May.

Hundreds of bands have entered already for 2010 with the line-up below now finalized. Doors will be at 7.00pm and tickets will be sold on the door for £2 only.

Line-Up:

Casitas

With a wide range of musical influences, Casitas have already made their mark with some highly original material described as having “an element of fun but with a serious quality edge that a band going places needs.”

GirlFriday

GirlFriday are an alternative indie-pop duo influenced by everything from Madonna and Annie Lennox through to Talking Heads and Stereolab.

Kosmo Kings

Together for less than 3 months, the Kosmo Kings are keen to make an impact for 2010.

The Adventures Of…

The Adventures Of… are an Indie/Rock band hailing from Devon and Nottingham in the UK. Their flamboyant style and eccentrically energetic live shows have resulted in a strong following and sell out shows.

Gigs this year will take place around the country from January to April, across 30 of the country’s best live music venues – with even more partners and music industry muscle on board for 2010. Bands and artists are invited to enter details via www.redstripe.netand if selected will play for the chance to win spots at some of the UK’s best loved festivals, including The Great Escape.
