
Red Stripe Music Award 2010: Manchester
Manchester has announced its 2010 bill for Red Stripe Music Awards, taking place at Moho on February 17th. Last year, local favourite Gideon Conn made it to the final at London’s Kentish Town Forum and played with Gomez.
Hundreds of bands have entered already for 2010 with the line-up below now finalized. Doors open at 7.00pm and entry is free for all.

Innercity Pirates
Innercity Pirates write new material and perform live on a regular basis and are getting increased recognition for their sound.
The Laurel Collective
The Laurel Collective are a six-piece whose members hail from Wales, England, Nigeria and Italy. The band defy genre-categorisation and are led by the contrasting vocals of front men Martin Sakutu and Bob Tollast.
No* Tokyo
No*Tokyo have supported Puressence and Exit Calm. They are soon to record their debut album.
Where’s Strutter
Where’s Strutter formed in October 2007 and are made up of long time friends from Mossley, Uppermill and Oldham.
Area
Area are an indie rock band who bizarrely describe themselves as, “coming at ya like a Northern Bullet”.
Gigs this year will take place around the country from January to April, across 30 of the country’s best live music venues – with even more partners and music industry muscle on board for 2010. Bands and artists are invited to enter details via www.redstripe.netandif selected will play for the chance to win spots at some of the UK’s best loved festivals, including The Great Escape.
