Red Stripe Music Award 2010: Brick Lane

Brick Lane is set to showcase the brightest bunch of bands from London, with a host of new acts confirmed at 93 Feet East on March 11th.

Hundreds of bands have entered already for 2010 with the line-up below now finalized. Doors will be at 7pm and free entry for all.

My Luminaries 

This five-piece alternative rock band are due to launch Parasol, their first single on March 22nd 2010 on Cottage Industries, the band’s own label, with the album release to follow in the spring. They have already been tipped by Q Magazine’s Emerging Talent Competition and will appear at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.

EDIT/SELECT are a young musical gang from art beat of London’s lower south east side, promising young upstarts promising “in yer face newer wave pop charm and pro-active creation”. They have found themselves on the same bill as Motorhead, Happy Mondays, Athlete at Guilfest 2009 and in demand at creative gatherings like the Peoples Day Festival.

Niteflights 

This five-piece have been described as a “high voltage band” boasting a diverse and original set, dynamically spanning genres with passion and panache. Currently delighting audiences across London, Niteflights have been described as a troupe of young musicians bloated with ambition.

Robot Disaster 

These five lads aim to fight their way into your hometowns and headphones with their tales of people and parties told through words and song. They promise to get the crowd moving around the dancefloor with a memorable poppy, indie disco set.

The Jude 

This four-piece indie-pop-punk band are getting great reviews for their energetic performances, promising electricity laden songs and have been described as showing off a sound described as Kings Of Leon meets delta blues and 60s rock.

Gigs this year will take place around the country from January to April, across 30 of the country’s best live music venues – with even more partners and music industry muscle on board for 2010.
