
Red Stripe Music Award 2010: Reading
Red Stripe Music Award is hitting the streets of Reading this week with a showcase confirmed at The Purple Turtle on March 12th. Hundreds of bands have entered already for 2010 with the line-up below now finalized. Doors will be at 7.30pm and free entry for all on the door.

Johnny Arrow And The Cheap Day Returns
Lauded for their perky pop melodies this alternative indie band have been playing in and around Berkshire for almost two years.
Savasa
Sevasa are three old schoolmates who met in a pub in Reading, decided to put together a band to launch their anthem-esque tunes. Two years on, they promise an array of mosh-pitting tunes mixed in with some up-tempo rock ballads.
Clockwork
Clockwork are an up-and-coming metal band local to the Reading and Wokingham area with Edd Kerton on vocals, Simon ‘Moose’ Taylor on lead guitar, Jack Pamely on Rhythm guitar, Chris Calder on bass and Chris Ricketts on drums.
Attention Thieves
Attention Thieves are an exciting new four-piece band from Reading who formed in 2009 and are already gaining praise in the musical underground, taking you from post hardcore to indie rock through to punk.
Ravens In Paris
This three-piece formed in the summer of 2009, have spent the last year honing their sound and promise a ferocious and relentless performance.
Young Lust
Young Lust are a raw and blistering hard rock band with their roots deep in hard rock blues with massive chorus lines that promise a timeless sound.
Gigs this year will take place around the country from January to April, across 30 of the country’s best live music venues – with even more partners and music industry muscle on board for 2010. Bands and artists are invited to enter details via www.redstripe.netand if selected will play for the chance to win spots at some of the UK’s best loved festivals, including The Great Escape.
