Red Stripe Music Award 2010: Canterbury
RSMA is to take place in Canterbury for the first time with a showcase confirmed at The Farmhouse on March 18th.
Hundreds of bands have entered already for 2010 with the line-up below now finalized. Doors will be at 8pm and only £3 entry.
Line-Up:
The Brassic
The Brassic only formed this September 2009 when singer/songwriter Fisher and bass player Ian Alfie were introduced to lead guitarist Jamie Young by a mutual friend Richard Smart. Jamie luckily had two musical brothers, rhythm guitarist Billy and Drummer Joe. Within a few hours of meeting they had gotten together and written ‘Robber And The Supermodel!’, the first song from their ‘For The Poor’ EP.
Motion Picture Soundtrack
Building on the successful release of their critically acclaimed ‘Departure EP’, Kent-based alt-rock band Motion Picture Soundtrack launch into 2010 with their second single ‘Glass Figures’ and anticipated debut album ‘The Shapes We Fear Are Of Our Own’ out now through Endgame Records. Based in Canterbury, they promise to “deftly weave engaging lyrics and powerful moving melodies into their deep, dark rock tapestry. At times gentle, at others fiercely driven, the result is uplifting, yet realistic, euphoric and beautiful”.
Colt 44
The brainchild of friends Adam Jerome and Pat Ramsden; Colt.44 formed in 2007 as a four-piece nu-
metal band with the intention of playing music that wasn’t based on haircuts, gimmicks or what was
popular at the time. They enlisted drummer Matt Savini after a recommendation from a friend, as well as a vocalist Adam knew from his previous band Recall.
