Tribes

Track Of The Day #36

Whether listening to tapes recorded from the radio or sat eating toast in front of CBBC, those of us who, like Tribes, were children in the mid-90s soaked up Ed The Duck, Andi Peters, Blur, Oasis and the rest. Tribes paid more attention than most, and when their musical education took over, moved to Camden and set their memories to articulate, uninhibited rock music, intent on making people feel exactly as they themselves did when they listened to their favourite bands. The already infamous reaction when they play ‘We Were Children’ live goes some way to revealing whether Tribes can realise their ambition.
