First Acts Announced For 2012 Great Escape
The first batch of bands playing this year’s Great Escape Festival have been announced.
The event will take place in Brighton the weekend of 10th-12th May, spread across 30 venues.
Dry The River, Grimes, Howler, Spector, Django Django, When Saints Go Machine, Friends and Zulu Winter are among the acts set to perform at the event. Meanwhile, the Brighton Dome will host a special performance from Africa Express Sound System.
Each year the festival teams up with an overseas partner to host the best new talent from that country or region. This year the partner is the Institut Ramon Llull, from north-east Spain, who will be presenting Catalan Sounds from Catalonia and the Balearic Islands. Artists include Mujeres, Me And The Bees, Seward and Ferguson and many more.
