Michael Eavis Talks Glastonbury Future
Glastonbury organiser Michael Eavis has said that the festival may only last another “three or four years.”
In an interview with The Times, Eavis claimed that festivals are “on the way out” as music fans are growing bored of attending them.
“Partly it’s economics, but there is a feeling that people have seen it all before. We’ve probably got another three or four years. We sell out only because we get huge headliners. In the year Jay-Z played we nearly went bankrupt,” he added.
Glastonbury will return in 2013 after taking a break next year, this year’s festival was headlined by U2, Coldplay and Beyonce.
