Fatboy Slim & Brett Anderson For Oxjam
Fatboy Slim, Suede frontman Brett Anderson and Ghostpoet have been announced as just three of the acts set to play in Oxfam stores this month.
September marks the fifth anniversary of the Oxjam initiative, which turns Oxfam shops into intimate live gig venues. This month of music sees more than 800 venues, 11,000 volunteers, 9,000 bands, and more than 20,000 audience members come together to raise money for Oxfam’s ongoing fight against poverty.
The full line-up is available here and a number of limited tickets go on sale today. Monday’s headliner, Fatboy Slim explained his motivation: “I’m delighted to be joining in the fifth birthday celebrations this year, and I hope that budding DJs all around the country will also be using their decks and records to help fight poverty in October.”
Anderson said: “In the early nineties, Suede bought most of their clothes in Oxfam shops. It was always somewhere you could find cheap, interesting old things that no-one else had and for a few years it pretty much defined our style, so I feel a massive sense of homecoming with the Oxjam gig.”
