Adele Apologises For Mercury Cancellation
Adele has apologised to her fans for failing to perform at last night’s Mercury Prize event after suffering from bronchitis.
The biggest-selling Mercury nominee gave the following statement via her official blog:
“”Hi guys, sorry about the first 2 shows. I’m as useless as a slug right now, I’ve had a rotten cold since I got home earlier this week and was hoping it wouldn’t make its way onto my chest.
“”But unfortunately it has and its leaving me breathless and I can’t hold any of my notes when I sing. And I don’t sound like myself either, because I’m all bunged up and croaky.”
The 23-year-old was one of the favourites in the run up to last night’s award ceremony but lost out to PJ Harvey whose album, ‘Let England Shake’, was deemed victorious by a panel of judges.
