Rihanna Duet “Favourite Bit” Of New Coldplay Album

Coldplay singer Chris Martin has said his duet with Rihanna is his “favourite bit” of the band’s forthcoming album ‘Mylo Xyloto’.

The ‘Only Girl’ singer collaborated with the band on ‘Princess Of China’ and Martin said he was amazed the star agreed to appear on the track.

The singer told MTV News: “We had a song that I’d secretly kind of written to see if Rihanna would want to sing it. And then the rest of the band wanted to keep it, so we came up with the idea of asking her to sing it with us, and, to our great surprise, she said OK.”

The frontman added he is not worried about the reaction to the pop star appearing Coldplay’s fifth album.

He said: “Well, her bit on our record is my favourite bit. When the song came out, it sort of asked for her to be on it. And I think at this point, we have nothing to lose, and so we’ve been trying some new things and trying to break down the perceived boundaries between different types of music.”

Coldplay are set to play three UK arena shows in December, with ‘Mylo Xyloto’ being released on 24th October.
