Sonic Youth Confirm Compilation Tracklist

Radiohead, Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder and Mike D of Beastie Boys have chosen tracks to be included on Sonic Youth’s forthcoming best of collection.

All the songs to feature on ‘Hits Are For Squares’ have been picked by a host of celebrity Sonic Youth fans including Beck, The Flaming Lips, actress Chloe Sevigny and director Gus Van Sant.

The album, which received a limited release on Starbucks Music in 2008, is to get a full release through Universal on 31st October, it will also feature a brand new track, ‘Slow Revolution’.

The documentary ’1991: The Year Punk Broke’, featuring Sonic Youth, Nirvana and The Ramones will also be available on 31st October for the first time on DVD.
