Super-Furry-Animals

Sea Shepherd Charity Art Auction Launches

04 Nov 2011

Artists behind Super Furry Animals and Gallows artwork have donated special artwork to the Sea Shepherd Charity.

Art and music lovers are being given the chance to bid for a series of one-off, exclusive paintings by artists whose fans include Super Furry Animals and Gallows. The five huge canvases include an original piece by Pete Fowler, the man credited with inventing ?Monsterism’ and whose art adorns seven Super Furry Animals album covers, and a piece by Gallows artist Dan Mumford.

The artists, who form ?The Dead Sea Mob’ collective created the sea themed canvases during a star-studded live painting event aboard the HMS Belfast in September, to raise money for the legendary Sea Shepherd Conservation Society (SSCS). All proceeds from the auction will be donated to the SSCS ahead of their forthcoming Antarctic mission to prevent Japanese whaling in the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary.
