Babyshambles To Defend Football Crown

12 May 2008

Fresh from his spell in the Scrubs, Pete Doherty has confirmed that he will be defending his crown at this year’s Samaritans Celebrity Soccer Six football tournament at Millwall FC on Sunday May 18th. Babyshambles won the competition last year, beating Razorlight along the way (sounds a bit like Chelsea or Man Utd to win the league – ideally you’d want both teams to lose) and this year they’ll be up against teams including Mcfly, Faithless, The Twang, Justin Hawkins and Get Cape.

Wear
Cape
. Fly, plus other ‘celebrities’ including Noel Fielding, Simon Webbe, Michelle Heaton, Jade Goody, Dave Gorman, contestants from Big Brother, X Factor, The Apprentice and Shipwrecked. If that sounds unmissable, then a) seek immediate medical attention, and b) get tickets from Ticketmaster on 0844 847 2449 and online at www.ticketmaster.co.uk, or alternatively you can purchase them directly from Millwall FC. Joking aside, all proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Samaritans, so it is in a very good cause…

In other Pete-Doherty-makes-a-mockery-of-the-British-justice-system-YET-AGAIN news, Babyshambles will tomorrow make their first live appearance since his early release from chokey with a performance at

London
’s Kentish Town Forum. Tickets are available here.
