GELDOF NOT KEEN ON LIVE EARTH

Happy go lucky bundle of fun Bob Geldof has criticised the extremely-well-meaning Live Earth Concerts.

Talking to Dutch Newspaper De Volkskrant (on this evidence, The Fly will try his press office later in the day), Geldof said he hoped the event was a success, but questioned Gore’s involvement.

“Why is [Gore] actually organising them?” he asked “To make us aware of the greenhouse effect? Everybody’s known about that problem for years. We are all fucking conscious of global warming”.

Poverty who when?

“I would only organise [Live Earth] if I could go on stage and announce concrete environmental measures from the American presidential candidates, Congress or major corporations. They haven’t got those guarantees, so it’s just an enormous pop concert or the umpteenth time that, say, Madonna or Coldplay get up on stage”.

Good job you spoke up Bob, or we’d all have forgotten what a massive success Live 8 was.
