BABYSHAMBLES READY ALBUM #2

Babyshambles have finished recording the bulk of their second album.

Bassist Drew McConnell has been blogging daily via the bands’ MySpace as the record starts to take shape.

Working at London’s Olympic studios with Smiths and Blur producer Stephen Street, McConnell writes that both producer and band have been in good spirits.

In a blog dated last Wednesday (23rd May) McConnell says: “Yesterday: A drunken and encouragingly enthused Stephen Street told me (or should i say shouted at me down a cellphone from a pub) how he enjoyed what he called “the most focused and productive day with Peter yet”. I ain’t heard him so excited since the sessions began. Apparently he got some gold takes, guitar and vocals alike, for [new tracks] You Talk and Carry On Up The Morning.”

McConnell’s final blog dates from last Thursday, and chronicles the input of ‘Lord Large’ on the organ, saying that the vocals just need “tying up”.
