Different Strokes

The Strokes seem to all be going in their own musical direction of late, with bassist Nikolai Fraiture the latest to undertake the solo venture. 

Two songs by his band Nickel Eye have appeared online on file-sharing websites and YouTube.  His tracks ‘Dying Star’ and ‘Brandy of the Damned’ were played on Mark Ronson’s radio show, and were subsequently ripped and uploaded online.  The band are in their early stages, not having played live yet, but have set up a MySpace page with information on their debut album, entitled ‘The Time of the Assassins’.
