Glasto 2009 Headliners Almost Confirmed

According to festival organizer Emily Eavis, headliners for Glastonbury 2009 will be confirmed “pretty soon”.

In an interview with BBC News Eavis admitted that the festival would not be playing host to a selection of bands next year, she said, “It’s not Coldplay, it’s not U2 and it’s not The Rolling Stones.” The festival organizers have been confirming acts earlier than past years as tickets for 2009 are going on sale much earlier than normal, “Because our tickets go on sale on October 5 we’ve brought it forward. So we’re ensconced in chat about next year and there’s a lot of good feeling after such an amazing festival. We’re talking to a few people at the moment and I think pretty soon we’ll have some stuff sorted,” Eavis explained.

Bets are already being made as to who might be taking to the stage, at present the bookies favourite to headline is Radiohead.
