Rakes Ready New Album

03 Oct 2008

Currently recording their third album in an ex-radio station in East Berlin, The Rakes wanted inspiration away from the

London
music scene. Confident that these are “their strongest songs to date”, the band “wanted to be somewhere more inspiring,” said Rakes singer Alan Donohoe.

Working with a new producer Chris Zane (Les Savy Fav, The Walkmen), Donohoe claims “the album is raw, playful, exciting, complex and schizophrenic… it’s sharp like razors; like pouring boiling bleach on our peers”.

The Fly has high expectations indeed. Currently untitled, the album will be released in the Spring of 2009.
