Lily-Allen

Lily Allen Returns

29 Oct 2008

It’s OK everyone, you can all relax. Lily Allen is back.

The

London
singer’s second album, ‘It’s Not Me, It’s You’ will be released on 9th February 2009.

Lily, dubbed “the Wordsworth of the MySpace generation”, apparently without irony, by the press release that arrived in our inbox not ten minutes ago, will unleash the album’s first single, ‘The Fear’, on January 26th.

Here is a sample lyric from her new record, “Now I lie here in the wet patch in the middle of the bed, I’m feeling pretty damn hard done by, I’ve spent ages giving head”.

Lovely. Here’s an idea, perhaps she should get Andrew Sachs’ granddaughter in as a guest vocalist to deliver that couplet?

Anyway, Lily is a serious artist, as we are reminded by the Very Important Email. Since her last record she has worked with
Robbie Williams, Mark Ronson, Common, Dizzee Rascal, Jamie T and Kaiser Chiefs
.

A big tour is expected next year, it adds.
