Coldplay To Play Wembley?

17 Nov 2008

Coldplay’s Chris Martin has suggested that the band could be performing a show at

London
’s Wembley Stadium next summer.

In an interview featured on the band’s website, Martin admitted that the band weren’t able to secure a gig at Knebworth but hinted Wembley Stadium could be the next best venue, “We tried to get Knebworth but it just wasn’t possible. So we’re having to think of something else. In fact, I think we have thought of something else. Hopefully we’ll be able to announce it soon. And hopefully it’s not the same day that Oasis have booked it.”

The Coldplay frontman also admitted that the band wanted to perform another show in the

UK
before the end of the year, “I would like to do something on Christmas Eve, but I’m not sure if it’s possible. I have to say, it does feel weird that we haven’t been in

Britain
at all. Over the last week or so, the realisation of that has really hit. But I think next year we’ll make up for it.”
