Great Escape Announces Acts

30 Jan 2009

Metronomy, Kissy Sell Out, Future Of The Left, Golden Silvers (pictured), Passion Pit, Micachu, Bell X1, Ben Kweller and The Soft Pack have all been announced for May’s Great Escape festival.

The three-day Brighton bash, which takes place on 14th, 15th and 16th May, will also see the following bands take to the stage: Pulled Apart By Horses, Your Twenties, The Chapman Family, Johnny Foreigner, Dananananaykroyd, It Hugs Back, The Big Pink, VV Brown, Esser, Kasms, Let’s Wrestle, To The Bones, Joy Formidable, Middle Class Rut, An Experiment On A Bird In The Air Pump, Vivian Girls, A Grave With No Name, Tin Can Telephone, Yves Klein Blues, John Steel Blues Band and Cassie And The Cassettes.

Now in its fourth year, the festival has previously played host to before-they-were-household-names sets from the likes of Klaxons, Ting Tings, Gossip and Gallows, all of whom really ought to have a ‘The’ in front of them, but don’t. Coincidence? You decide.

Earlybird tickets for Great Escape are available from www.escapegreat.com for £39.50.
