Estelle & Kanye West picked up the award for best rap collaboration, for ‘American Boy’, while Adele won both the ‘Best Female Pop Vocal Performance’ and ‘Best New Artist’ awards. Meanwhile, Welsh singer Duffy won the ‘Best Pop Vocal Album’ gong for ‘Rockferry’.
Ageing rocker Peter Gabriel completed the British romp by winning the ‘Best Instrumental Arrangement’ and ‘Best Song Written For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media’ awards for his contributions to the animated movie Wall-E.
