Chad-Kroeger

Nickelback Win Three Junos

30 Mar 2009

Chad ‘I-grew-a-beard-to-hide-my-face’ Kroeger (pictorially depicted here by a representation of the Lord Jesus Christ made from melted cheese) made a clean sweep at Canada’s answer to The Brits last night. Chad’s band Nickelback collected three Juno awards after performing live to an audience of dozens or more.
The oft leather-clad cock-rockers claimed the ‘Album of the Year’ award (for ‘Dark Horse’), the ‘Juno Fan Choice Award’ (thus proving that bad taste can be a nationalised phenomenon) and the ‘Group of the Year Award’. We can only assume that being the best band in Canada is comparable to being the smartest kid on the special bus. You’re only good by comparison Nickelback, only by comparison!
Other winners included Coldplay, whose ‘Viva La Vida’ scooped the much sought after Juno for ‘International Album of the Year.’ Great.
