STARS OUT FOR GIBSON CHARITY AUCTION
World famous guitar crafters Gibson are set to auction off a range of enormous hand-painted Les Pauls.
The giant guitar replicas have been designed by artists including Gerald Scarfe (creator of the iconic artwork for Pink Floyd’s ‘The Wall’) Sir Peter Blake (pictured – who created the legendary ‘Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’ Beatles artwork), ‘Control’ director and photographer Anton Corbijn, Factory Records sleeve designer Peter Saville and Led Zeppelin’s Robert Plant.
Thirty of the 10ft high guitars were displayed on London’s South Bank earlier this year, and each one has been signed by world famous musicians including Sir Paul McCartney, Brian May, Noel Gallagher, Paul Weller, Rod Stewart, Ozzy Osbourne, Robert Plant and Jeff Beck… as well as Hard-Fi, Kasabian, The Kooks, Gallows, Stereophonics and Dirty Pretty Things.
There will also be another 32 Gibson SG guitars signed by Ronnie Wood, Slash, Roger Waters, Lemmy, The View, The Fratellis and Kaiser Chiefs.
