U2 To Headline Glastonbury

23 Nov 2009

U2 will headline the opening night of next year’s Glastonbury.

The Irish rockers are set to headline the event which celebrates its 40 Anniversary in 2010. This will be U2’s first ever appearance at the Worthy Farm event, they will play on June 25th, with the other headliners yet to be announced.

“Everyone is over the moon that the deal has been done,” a source told The Sun. “Michael really wanted a huge name for the 40th anniversary and the fact U2 have never played Glastonbury in their 32-year career only adds to the mystique.”

Radiohead, Muse, David Bowie, Coldplay, The Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin are also rumoured to be playing this year, with Michael Eavis promising big acts for 2010, “The expectations are really high and we’re trying to get the best headliners in the world.”
