FOOTBALL CRAZY

18 Jan 2008

Pete Doherty is to become a savior of German football. Strange, but possibly true.

KFC Uerdingen, who play in one of the country’s lower regional leagues are to approach Doherty for financial help – appealing to the sentimental side of the Babyshambles singer, who has been a fan of the team since childhood, having stayed on an army base near the club as a child.

Manager of Babyshambles, Adrian Hunter has confirmed that the club have indeed approached the singer in the hope that by very association club ticket sales will increase. Nothing has been confirmed however, with Hunter simply saying “I know he has some affection for the club and he would be happy to do something if he has time”.
