Despite working on a new album, The Kaiser Chiefs have turned their attention to a new project and have joined a Stop Stansted Expansion group.

With a second runway being built next month at Stansted Airport, the band have decided to try and stop this by using their popularity to promote the problem.

An album of tracks made by musicians who back the campaign will be made, including the Kaisers, who are in the middle of an international tour.

The band were invited to help after drummer and song writer Nick Hodgson called his support for the runway campaigners during a speech whilst the band collected a Brit Award.
