KAISER CHIEFS UNPLUGGED
Leeds five-piece, Kaiser Chiefs have signed a petition putting pressure on the mobile phone industry with the aim to abolish energy-wasting phone chargers.
The online petition staged by The Unpluggit Campaign launched last week and has a target of 10,000 signatures.
Nick Hodgson, drummer for Kaiser Chiefs, who will be touring the US next month, said: ‘When you plug in your phone at night, you’re asleep for eight hours, but charging up your phone takes an hour and a half, so that’s six
and a half hours of electricity wasted.’
