‘Form And Control’ makes a promising enough start, leading with the Knife-esque electronica of ‘Following’’s warm synths and whispered vocals. ‘The Right One’ follows suit, before the album takes an unexpected diversion into camp prog-pop. ‘The Unknown Faces…’ boasts a killer chorus that’ll burrow into your earspace and squat there for days, but it battles against verses plundered straight from the mid 90s. ‘Shake’, too, sounds all-too-dated with its “way-oh-way” refrains and Pet Shop Boys synths. ‘Form And Control’ is a pleasant enough offering, but there’s nothing phenomenal on show here.
