Brooklyn duo Savoir Adore tread an all too familiar path on their debut – ‘In The Wooded Forest’ does nothing to stand out from a busy crowd Lacking the originality of their musical neighbours, their experimental indie floats between trippy and twee. Whilst Paul Hammer and Deidre Muro blend nicely, their cutesy choruses and spaced-out vibes become as tedious as they are omnipresent in 2010. Tracks like ‘Merp’ and ‘The Wooded Forest’ get caught in a sludgy middle ground, never capturing the necessary energy. Ultimately Savoir Adore fail to launch, leaving what could have been a curious blend of Yeasayer and The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart as a pale imitation.
