You know those days when you wake up and spring out of bed with a song in your heart? Us neither – but listening to Treefight For Sunlight seems like it would be pretty darn close to it. Too chipper to ever be properly hip, and even more loveable because of it, the Denmark foursome cater in sing-along symphonies propelled by an array of pianos, guitars, woodwind, “ooh ahh” harmonies and vocals which sit sweetly somewhere between MGMT and Empire Of The Sun. ‘They Never Did Know’, ‘What Became Of You And I?’ and ‘Riddles In Rhymes’ in particular are insanely catchy. Maudlin music be damned.
