Have a Cro-at this?

Meanwhile, over in Croatia, the VipINmusic Festival is brewing up nicely. Hitting its third year, the beano is hosted right in the center of Zagreb, in the gorgeous surroundings of Lake Jarun.

Past acts have included Franz Ferdinand, Morrissey, Sonic Youth, Iggy & The Stooges, New York Dolls, Asian Dub Foundation and loads more, making it a rather excellent city-and-countryside-and-musicside-break all wrapped up in one adventure-except-in-a-smart-city type package.

This year, the 20,000 capacity festival is to be held over June 3rd and 4th, and the line-up is taking shape niftily.

Said lineup is spread over their four different stages: Vip, Nokia, Tuborg Green Stage, and the ‘100 times better than David Kid Jensen ever was’ Radio 101 Stage.

So far confirmed to appear are Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, The Prodigy, Serj Tankian, Stereo MCs, Tinariwen, Amadou & Mariam, Sons & Daughters, The Go! Team, Dreadzone, XX Teens (pictured there, look) and all manner of other less familiar names, from Seun Kuti & Egypt 80 to local heroes Vjestice and the wonderfully-named Atheist Rap.

Ticket prices, for the two-day festival ticket including camping are (in order of earlybird discounts and that):

€ 51 / £40 – Feb 29 – April 29 2008

€ 57 / £45 – April 30 – June 02 2008

* € 61 at the festival box office

Jeez, the exchange rate’s well crap at the moment isn’t it?  Still, at least we’ve got our health.

Online tickets are available at www.eventim.hr, cause we’re guessing you’re probs not gonna be able to nip down to Zagreb to pick some up directly.
