Coldplay and White Lies will take part in two new MTV series. As part of the newly-launched MTV World Stage, Coldplay will be filmed live in Tokyo, where Chris Martin & co. play Saitama Super Arena, and their performance will air on Friday 27th February on MTV channels around the world. The station say that MTV World Stage “gives access to the most exclusive gigs and unique concert locations from around the world.”
White Lies, meanwhile, will take part in the station’s new MTV Push initiative, which will see up’n’coming artists get a wide range of exposure through MTV online and on-air.
Following Coldplay, there’s other bands lined to get the MTV World Stage treatment over the next few months. The line-up is:

Slipknot – 13th March
Oasis – 20th March
Franz Ferdinand – 27th March
Duffy – 29th May
Kaiser Chiefs – 5th June
White Lies are currently on the NME Awards Tour with Florence And The Machine, Glasvegas and Friendly Fires.
