Manic Street Preachers have announced details of their ninth album.
‘Journal For Plague Lovers’ will be released on 18th May on Columbia Records. Produced by Steve Albini (Pixies, Nirvana), the album was recorded at Rockfield Studios in Wales last winter.
The 13-track album uses lyrics found in the notebook of former guitarist Richey Edwards, who disappeared in 1995.
‘Journal For Plague Lovers’ will also feature an original piece of artwork by artist Jenny Saville, whose painting ‘Strategy (South Face/Front Face/North Face)’ adorns the cover of the band’s 1994 masterpiece, ‘The Holy Bible’, Edwards’ last lyrical contribution to the band’s output.
