JUST GOOD FRANZ

Franz Ferdinand have been talking about their latest collaboration.

The band have teamed up with Girls Aloud to record a cover of David Bowie's 'Sound and Vision' for the forthcoming Radio 1 anniversary album.

Frontman Alex Kapranos told reporters: "I asked Girls Aloud to do the famous 'doo doo doo doo doo doo' backing vocals. They were in the studio working on their own record. They're pretty laid back so it was a music marriage made in heaven. We're all independently minded people who want to do things their way. Franz Ferdinand have much more in common with Girls Aloud than certain other bands".

The Radio 1 anniversary album is being released to celebrate the station’s 40th birthday, and features 40 contemporary artists covering a track from each of the last 40 years.
