John & Jehn

‘John & Jehn’

(Faculty Music)

At the time of writing, there’s no Wikipedia entry for John and Jehn. Not that any serious hack would rely on as dubious a source as Wikipedia. And not that John and Jehn, or their fans, would care; they’re probably far too cool for Wikipedia…

The couple’s eponymous debut is a very personal album – they each have their own “side” of this “record”. Focusing on the lyrics and the vocals, John and Jehn support their music with whatever instruments they can play whilst singing, making a chaotic, shambolic combination of guitars, keys and percussion. They look great, they sound super cool, and it’s safe to say they’re like nothing else around at the moment. Good luck if you try to pigeon-hole them.
