Attack In Black
‘Marriage’
(Hassle)
You can’t beat a bit of gritty, passionate rock music and while it may be hard to dig out these days, Attack In Black are the latest to join acts such as Black Lips and The Hold Steady in the campaign to keep this much pillaged genre alive. The Ontario four-piece’s debut offering rages beautifully throughout its twelve epic tracks, conjuring up the spectres of Springsteen, Neil Young and Refused in its snarling riffs, growled vocals, instantly hummable melodies, bombastic horns and smart Miller and Bukowski-inspired lyrics. Refreshing stuff indeed.
