Mechanical Bride

‘P art II – EPs’

(Transgressive)

The voice of Mechanical Bride is hauntingly beautiful and comes and goes like an eerie fog against the delicate piano, xylophones and plucked guitar melodies scattered across this mini-album, which could be the soundtrack to a Tim Burton film. ‘See W orlds’ and ‘Shuffle’ are so fragile they feel as it they could crumble to pieces at any moment, but they don’t. Yet another blimin’ cover of ‘Umbrella’ features here but no one has covered it quite like this, the Mechanical Bride treatment coating the song in icicles and gives it an air of haunted nursery. Modest, timeless and magical, Mechanical Bride could quite easily blow fellow Brightonian Bat F or Lashes off of the frozen lake…
