The View

‘Which Bitch?’

(1965)

‘Hats Off To The Buskers’, isn’t a far cry from their Mercury-nominated debut, still awash with terrace anthem melodies and rabid, rasping vocals. ‘Which Bitch?’ sees the Dundonians stick to the formula; post-Libertines rackets and pulverizing drums on tracks like ‘Shock Horror’ and the single ‘5 Rebbeccas’ back up Kyle Falconer’s voice as he rips through tracks like a drunk Cartman in a kilt, vicious, flummoxing and oddly appealing. The View still focus their impact on a gleeful adolescent rush of excitement, but this time rather than a White Lightning-enthused indie disco brawl soundtrack they attack with a tribalistic growl, totally without pretence and fully armed with brutal, ruthless charm.
