Lovvers
‘OCD Go Go Go Girls’
(Wichita)

We’ve seen them tear the place apart numerous times live, so we’re happy to find that Lovvers sound just as freakily ferocious on their debut album proper. Following last year’s impressive mini-effort ‘Think’, the four-piece rattle out more rough and ready noise pop here, driven by fuzzy guitars, pounding rhythms and shadowy distorted vocals. And while they make one hell of a racket, ‘OCD Go Go Go Girls’ is as infectious as it is eardrum-shreddingly relentless. Most importantly, however, it’s a thrilling listen from the get-go and technically pretty awe-inspiring; ‘Four Count’, ‘Creepy Crawl’ and the title track being just a few of its many highlights. Believe us, Lovvers will make you lose your mind with glee.
