White Lies

‘Unfinished Business’

(Chess Club)

White Lies’ songs are full of all the dark 80s drama and big, room-filling vocals bands like The Killers might play up to – but thankfully lacking the affected glitz or Duran Duran that might ordinarily entail, replaced instead with captivating lyrics and a refreshing depth of perspective. The West London three-piece’s debut single, ‘Unfinished Business’, has all the noir-sleaze, Smiths-esque beginnings and fire-from-below Arcade Fire dramatics as it builds – layering itself up a massive, cathartic, thick-beated finish.

It’s an epic, an atmosphere song, something White Lies were clearly born for.

I've searched for this band relentlessly without any luck prior to now. Thanks, Fly!
